I wasn’t that fimiliar with Charlie Kirk until after he died and was told that I had to mourn him or else. I thought this was ridiculous and asked who he was and was told he was a champion of free speech. I thought I should look up this guy is.
When I did all I heard was racist, mosagynistic, hate speech so I was like “I am not going to mourn this guy he was against everything I stand for!” and I wrote “Don’t like him”. I took a lot of flack from my family and right wing friends and was told that I had to listen to Kirk’s entire message and not the short snippets that were on the internet. So I did.
When I listened to his entire statement it lead me to believe I was right, this guy was a jerk. It was just a longer statement that confirmed what he was saying, racis, mosagynistic hate speech and people were like “No it’s not hate speech, it’s free speech. Didn’t you listen to him?” and I was like “Yes, the guys is spewing hate.”, but that didn’t stop them from saying I was full of hate and missed the message. WHat message did I miss? Women are sub-human, people of color and sub-human, woke is sub-human, empathy is sub-human? I don’t get it.
After that they changed their message to “Well no one should be murdered or are you celebrating his MURDER!” and I am like, “I am not celebrating his murder, I just don’t care for him and have no feelings towards what happened.” I have feelings about this that are here not there.
All in all, if you listen to Charlie Kirk’s full statements there is no doubt that this guy was part of what is wrong with America, free hate speech and lies for those on the right and no speech for those on the left. This is what America has become. Do I think he should have been killed for his words, no, but do I have to believe they where absolute truth and he was a saint? Also no.
